ERP5 Express servers are hosted in data centers located in Europe. Data centers are fully equipped with fire protection, theft protection and redundant power supply. This means that the hardware availability of ERP5 Express servers is usually much higher than the availability of servers found in most companies.
ERP5 Express uses the infrastructure of companies such as OVH and Lost Oasis. OVH has been rated best hosting operator in 2007 and offers low latency on international connectivity which makes it suitable for worldwide operations.
ERP5 Express has been designed to maximise data security. A dedicated instance of the Zope application server is provided to every ERP5 Express customer. This means that the data of each ERP5 Express customer is stored in an independent location, thus protecting against data leaks from one customer to another. This also means that transactions of different customers will not interfere with eachother.
ERP5 Express servers use an industry standard 64 bit Linux architecture for optimal performance. The use of a 64 bit architecture provides performance increases, in particular with the technologies which ERP5 is based on (Python, Zope, MySQL).
ERP5 Express customers may backup all the data of their ERP5 environment onto their local PC. The backup is provided in the form of a single and easy file (Data.fs) which contains all the information that was entered in the system since day 1. This option gurantees that ERP5 Express customers may migrate their ERP5 Express environment to a local server (running for example ERP5 LiveCD) or to another hosting service at any time without losing any data at all.
Unlike proprietary ASP solutions, ERP5 Express does not prevent users from migrating to a self-managed server solution and gurantees that no data will be lost in this migration.
